A driving force of excellence and results for over three decades, Atif’s tenure and leadership skills have left a lasting mark in New York City’s overloaded landscape of luxury, branded and independent lifestyle hotels. Widely recognized as a resourceful hospitality management professional with solid leadership, financial, operational, top-line optics and ownership relation background. Result-oriented with proven ability to identify and improve value drivers, resulting in a positive impact on associates, guest satisfaction, product improvement and maximizing profits.

 

Atif’s 12-year career at The Plaza, New York is best summarized as a gradual ascent to the position of Executive Director of Food and Beverage, achieving an unsurpassed mark of $54 million dollars in food and beverage revenue. Starwood Hotels & Resorts recruited Atif to lead the Sheraton’s of New York complex as Director of Operations where he propelled the complex to achieving $230 million dollars of revenue within 3 years and coined the “Sheraton Promise” through his Six Sigma expertise and techniques while chairing the Guest and Associate Satisfaction committee. Plotting his debut to independent and un-branded hotels, Atif assumed leadership roles with The Morgan Hotel Group as Hotel Manager of The Hudson and then on to General Manager of The Empire. Atif commitment and immersion in lifestyle and experiential hospitality concepts and later earned him the appointment of Vice President of Operations for The King & Grove lifestyle hotels.

 

In 2016, Atif’s admiration of the 250,000 square feet SoJo Spa, Urban Resort and Hotel in New Jersey and brief acquaintance with the ownership group, earned him the complete oversight to assemble and structure this magnificent complex.

 

Shortly after earning a BA in finance from Cairo University, Atif pursued his love of travel and nature, gastronomy, design, art and music. He enjoys hiking and cooking for family and friends. He is an active member of local communities and enjoys building positive bridges between colleagues and friends.

With GAM Hospitality, Atif masterfully led the launch of three new Selina Hotels in New York – the Americano, 138 Bowery and Woodstock. In his humble and post-transition judgement, the greater mission is to form and foster a culture work and unity that drive all departments to a higher level of excellence in all that they do.
